New Federal Tax Withholding Tables

paycheck checkup artNew Federal Tax Withholding Tables were added to the Integrated HR-Payroll System last month, and many of you are wondering if you need to change your withholding allowance. The IRS recently added a new Withholding Calculator to their website and encourages all employees to use the calculator to perform a quick “paycheck checkup.”

The Calculator will help you identify your tax withholding to make sure you have the right amount of tax withheld from your paycheck. To use the calculator, go to https://www.irs.gov/individuals/irs-withholding-calculator. The IRS recommends having your most recent paystub and your most recent income tax return handy before beginning.

After using this calculator, you determine that you need to change your withholding allowance, you can complete the change on Employee Self Service (ESS). Logon to the Integrated HR/Payroll System, select My Data (ESS), select My Personal Data, and click on the Tax Withholding Information link.

If you are unable to change your withholdings online, you can download a new Form W-4 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf and provide the form to your Agency HR office.
