The Office of the State Controller has issued an updated version of the June 2021 General Fund Monthly Report. This was due to an error on the report that has now been corrected.
For Fiscal Year 2021, when compared to the prior year through June 30, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which includes tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $5.9 billion or 25.4 percent, and non-tax revenues decreased by $92 million, or 9.7 percent as compared to the previous year.
The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of June 2021 was $6.3 billion as compared to $1.5 billion as of June 2020.
