Office of the State Controller Releases August 2022 Financial Report

For Fiscal Year 2023, when compared to the prior year through August 31, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts.

For Fiscal Year 2023, when compared to the prior year through August 31, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $246 million or 5.5 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $38 million, or 66.2 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of August 2022 was $8.8 billion as compared to $7.6 billion as of August 2021.
