For Fiscal Year 2022, when compared to the prior year through April 30, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which includes tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $4.0 billion or 17.0 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $26.2 million, or 3.4 percent as compared to the previous year.
The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of April 2022 was $8.2 billion as compared to $7.3 billion as of April 2021.
