System Close of Fiscal Year 2003 - Successful

Fiscal Year 2003 was sucessfully closed this week and all data related to FY 2003 has been moved from the Open Years File (GMP11) to the Closed Years File (GMP21). All Information Expert (IE) reports that contain a "year indicator" as part of the run statement should be changed to correctly run reports as follows:

Also, the OSC will begin processing batch maintenance tonight to inactivate the summary center for all accounts that are not associated with a postable center. This maintenance will be reported on the Batch Proof List each night the maintenance is performed. Once all summary distributions have been inactivated, a program to delete the unused accounts will be executed to remove the accounts from the General Ledger files.

System Close of Fiscal Year 2003

The system close of fiscal year 2003 will begin on Monday evening, December 15. Agencies may see BC journal voucher transactions posted to their companies with an effective date of 07/01/2003 and YEAR END CLOSING ENTRY in the Description 1 field of the documents. They may also observe balances on their Tuesday morning reports for account/center 390000-9998. These balances will be eliminated when the final stage of the prior year close is completed on Tuesday evening, December 16. Any agencies that run custom IE reports that use a "prior year closed or open" variable, will need to update their reports or run statements to reflect the closed status of the previous year.

The Operation Calendars and Schedules for January, February, and March have been added to the Operations topic.
