| April 2, 1998 | It has come to OSC's attention
that several agencies have been conducting training in the NCAS production
region. This is a violation of appropriate internal controls, a breach
of security, and can severely jeopardize the integrity of the State's financial
records. This process may be subject to an audit exception.
A practice region for the NCAS is available to all agencies who wish to train their employees. This practice region is designed to mimic the production environment. If additional Chart of Account or Policy needs to be added, OSC will be more than happy to update or add to this environment whatever is needed to accommodate the agency. OSC does request that the agency notify the OSC in advance of its training or required use so we will have sufficient lead time to update this environment. This practice region is usually available Monday through Friday with the exception of sometimes Wednesday, when a production cycle may be executed for the posting process. However, again with advance notice, OSC will be happy to accommodate the agency's schedule if there is not a conflict with other requests. |
