| SUBJECT: | State Business Infrastructure Agency System Survey |
We recently announced the kick-off of a study to examine the State’s core business systems. Session Law 2001-491 directs the Office of the State Controller (OSC) to determine the feasibility of developing and implementing a new financial business infrastructure for the State. OSC, with the assistance of Deloitte Consulting, has begun Phase 1 of the study that is designed to provide an inventory and assessment of the State’s business infrastructure. As we move forward with this important project, we look for your partnership and support as we seek to complete Phase 1 within an eight to ten week time frame.
An initial task that will require input from some of your key staff involves the completion of a survey document designed to capture summary information related to your agency’s key systems/subsystems. This particular task will need to be completed through an Internet web site by the close of business on February 26, 2003. While we understand that multiple staff from your agency may be required to complete the surveys, please provide one coordinated response for each system survey within the specified time frame.
The purpose of the on-line survey is to develop an inventory of the agency systems currently being used throughout the State. The results of this survey will be used to evaluate the adequacy of the central financial and human resources systems. This survey defines an Agency System as any system that interfaces with (manually or automated), duplicates functionality of, or provides functionality not found in one or more of the statewide Core Administrative Systems. The survey may be accessed at http://www.osc.state.nc.us/sbis/index.html.
We welcome your questions,
feedback, and support at any time, and we thank you in advance for your
cooperation. Questions concerning the survey document should be forwarded
to the OSC Help Desk, 919-875-4357 or by email at BIS.Survey@mail.osc.state.nc.us.
