SUBJECT:       Agency Chart of Accounts Reviews

In preparation for the coming fiscal year-end, the Office of the State Controller (OSC) is in the process of initiating chart of accounts reviews at all state agencies. The OSC believes that a timely review of key agency activities related to the North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS) will provide for an improved year-end close-out on the cash and the GAAP basis. The reviews will consist of a chart of accounts analysis and preparation for the year-end planning conferences.

The Statewide Accounting Division (SAD) staff will be contacting you to establish an appropriate time to discuss any issues. We appreciate your assistance and time in helping the OSC in these endeavors. Please contact Anne Godwin at 981-5480 if you have any questions or concerns.
