Recently the Office of the State Controller has experienced a large number of last minute cancellations for OSC/NCAS Training classes. Some students have failed to notify our training staff of their expected absence at all. When this occurs, it does not allow our training staff adequate time to fill vacancies. In one case, an agency cancelled so many students the day prior to a class beginning, the entire class had to be cancelled. This caused inconvenience for the other registered students and created additional work for our training staff. While we recognize that emergencies do occur, we feel that the following cancellation policy will allow our office to operate more efficiently and result in a better use of the State’s resources.

Effective May 15, 1998, the OSC will institute a Cancellation Policy for all state agencies attending NCAS training. Please read the attachment carefully and discuss this policy with your training coordinators/employees who have registered or will register for NCAS classes in the future.
