On Sunday, September 1, 1996, the SIPS RACF password rules will require all RACF passwords be at least six characters in length.

The number of previous passwords retained in a history file will also be increased to prevent the recycling of passwords.

All passwords must begin with a letter of the alphabet and can be no longer than eight characters.
