SUBJECT:   Payroll Interface Corrections

The payroll interface run during the nightly production cycle of Thursday, July 10 generated inappropriate entries to the North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS). This interface run processed entries for the July 10, 1997 payroll and the associated June 30, 1997 accruals and accrual reversals dated June 30, 1998.

The OSC is currently investigating this error. Reversing entries were posted to the NCAS during the nightly production cycle of July 11 which completely backed out the entries from the previous nights interface. As a result of this error and correction, agencies should expect to see two future dated batches in its SBM with an effective date of June 30, 1998 and PI in the application area. These future dated batches will be deleted by OSC on Monday, July 14. OSC plans to rerun the payroll interface on Tuesday, July 15. Once the payroll is rerun, the agencies should have a future dated batch in SBM that is correct and should not be deleted. Please be aware of these entries as you review your agencys reports on July 14, 1997 and July 16, 1997.
