Subject: New Fiscal Year Activity in Smartstream Views and Reports

Please forward this information to all Smartstream users within your agency.

Activity for the new fiscal year will be included in the standard Smartstream views and reports beginning tomorrow. Please remember to select the appropriate fiscal year from the dimension bar.

In order to speed nightly processing, we have archived the first nine months of fiscal year 1996 and removed it from the Smartstream databases (CDBs). Smaller CDBs take less time to create and will allow us to update and deliver all views to every agency each night. Also, these smaller CDBs will be easier for Smartstream users to manipulate and view. Agencies whose views were limited to two periods (current period and prior period) as well as central management agencies statewide views will contain the current period (July 1996) and periods 12 and 13 from the prior year.

OSC is in the process of creating archives for all prior year information and changing all the standard views and reports into templates that can be used with any archive file. Our goal is to make the remaining nine months of fiscal year 1996 information available to the Smartstream users by August 31. More information about the historical archives will be sent to all agencies at a later date.
