Subject: CFDA Review

In May, you received memo NCAS-96-0014 entitled Loading CFDA Numbers Into NCAS. That memo mentioned that agencies would be asked to review and verify information once it was loaded into NCAS. The information for your agency has been entered into the system and is ready for review. Thank you for submitting your data to OSC in such a timely manner.

To verify that the CFDA numbers and federal participation percentages are correct, please run C-U-GL-CFDA-CENTER-LIST from GLPUBLIC in Information Expert (IE). The report has been modified to print the CFDA number and federal participation rates that have been entered into NCAS. If the report is incorrect or incomplete, please make corrections on the report and mail it back to OSC, Caswell Building, Attn: Chuck Cooper.

Please note the following:

• Several agencies did not include CFDA numbers for the federal centers. If there are federal centers without CFDA information on the IE report, please fill out those lines of the report as soon as possible and return it to OSC.
• Some agencies may have copied the original C-U-GL-CFDA-CENTER-LIST from GLPUBLIC into their private libraries. Please delete this version and run the new version. There have been significant changes made to the report. The original version will not provide any CFDA or participation percentage data to review.
• All federal centers have been entered at 100%, since all money within these funds should be spent for federal programs.
• Centers which did not include any federal funds were assigned a CFDA number of 00.000 and a federal participation percentage of 0%. If this is incorrect for any center, please correct on the report and mail it to OSC.
• Center descriptions were not updated. Many agencies wrote in the names of centers which do not currently have a description within NCAS. OSC did not update any of this information within the system. It is the responsibility of each agency to maintain the center descriptions within NCAS. The procedure, titled Adding a Full Center Description, is found in the Agency System Management section of the Step-by-Steps within the NCAS Information Guide.
