SUBJECT: 2001 Legislative Increase

GENERAL INFORMATION

The $625.00 Legislative Increase will be added to the employee's annual salary.  This annual salary will be effective retroactively to July 1, 2001.  The Office of State Personnel updated their system last weekend.  This week they have provided us with a file, which we are now in the process of testing.  This file will be modified to comply with our system requirements.  The payroll system will be updated over this weekend.

MONTHLY PAYROLL UPDATE

1. The October monthly payroll transmittal has already been run and provided to your agency.  This transmittal will NOT be rerun.
2. If an employee's existing salary in the payroll system equals the employee's old salary on the state personnel file, the employee's annual salary will be updated and listed in the report 2001 Legislative Increase Applied.  Otherwise the employee's social security number, last name and reason for not updating will be found on the report 2001 Legislative Increase Not Applied.
3. If an employee's current pay in the payroll system is equal to their old annual salary divided by the rate factor, then we will update the employee's current pay and apply the retroactive pay amount for the three months, (July-September).  Otherwise the employee's social security number, last name and the reason will also appear on the report 2001 Legislative Increase Not Applied.
4. Updates will not be processed for employees having split records.  These employees will also be indicated on the report 2001 Legislative Increase Not Applied.

LONGEVITY PAY

1. The Longevity Payroll Transmittal is based on the employee's old annual salary.
2. The Longevity Payroll Transmittal for November will reflect any Longevity Pay differential due the employee because of the salary increase, for the months of July - October.
