| SUBJECT: | Escheat Affidavits Received After Payroll Deadline |
In our memorandum dated September
28, 2001 concerning Escheats we asked that all affidavits be returned to
our office by October 16, 2001. The checks for affidavits not received
by October 16, 2001 were escheated. If your office received affidavits
after the deadline, please forward them to my attention. The envelope
containing these affidavits should be identified with the words "ESCHEAT
AFFIDAVITS" written in large print. We will send a request to the
Escheat Section requesting that the check amounts shown on the affidavits
be refunded. This process may take several weeks because modifications
to the initial escheat file must be completed before any refund requests
are issued.
