Maintaining
Access Paths
Changes to warehouse areas
often require subsequent changes in the related access paths. Several screens
are used to complete these maintenance functions:
-
The Access Path Update (APU)
screen is used to update access path information originally entered on
the Access Path Entry (APE) screen.
-
The Access Path Delete (APD)
screen deletes an access path from the NCAS completely.
-
The Access Path Sequence Delete
(APSD) screen only deletes selected areas from a sequence of warehouse
areas on an access path. This screen is also used to change access path
sequences. An area on a sequence must first be deleted using this screen
before reentering it on the(Access Path Sequence Entry (APSE) screen.
If an access path is deleted
using the Access Path Delete (APD) screen, the sequence of warehouse areas
associated with the path is automatically deleted as well. However, areas
on an access path sequence can be deleted on the APSD (Access Path Sequence
Delete) screen without deleting the access path as a whole. As a result,
new sequence areas can later be created and added to the access path without
having to redefine the path itself.
