Warehouse managers are not only responsible for replenishing inventory at their warehouses. They must also issue inventory that has been requested by customers and other warehouses. There are three ways for customers and other warehouses to request items from your warehouse:
Issuing Inventory is divided into two subsections:
Processing Internal Replenishment and Usage Orders
In this section, you will learn all the steps involved in processing online orders, both internal replenishment and usage orders, in the NCAS. First, you will learn about inventory allocation. Then, you will learn how to print pick lists, post picking activity and close pick lists. Next, you will learn how to record order shipments and close orders. You will also learn how to handle backorders and returns. The end of this section then focuses on how all of the processing transactions affect system-maintained item balances in the Inventory module.
Issuing and Returning Inventory Directly
In this section, you will learn how to issue and return inventory items directly. When inventory is issued directly, the customer does not complete an online internal replenishment or usage order for the needed items. For a direct issue or a direct return, the customer simply goes to the counter at the warehouse to receive or return the items. At this time, the warehouse manager records the direct issue or return into the NCAS.
