The Inventory module uses group accounts and event identifiers to translate inventory transactions into accounting entries. A group account is a code that represents a group or a series of accounting distributions established for a particular set of items. Based on the type of inventory transaction, the event identifier codes locate specific accounts that are debited or credited within a group account. When a transaction for an inventory item occurs, the NCAS uses group account codes and event identifiers to debit/credit the appropriate accounts.
