The staging area is the first area to be defined in the NCAS when establishing warehouse information. The staging area is defined as the exit point from which goods are shipped to the customer. If a staging area is not established before defining other warehouse areas, the NCAS will automatically establish a staging area.
When a staging area is defined, the NCAS automatically records the movement of the goods into this area after picking is complete. The goods are then moved out of the online staging area when shipping is recorded in the NCAS. If the automatic shipment function is selected, the NCAS considers goods shipped upon picking. With automatic shipment, therefore, the NCAS does not place the goods in the defined staging area.
