Once an inventory requisition has been created in the NCAS, portions of it may need to be changed or deleted. Inventory requisitions can be updated just like regular requisitions. Refer to the following step-by-steps for a refresher on changing or deleting a requisition header, line or comment:
Changing or Deleting Inventory Requisition Comments
Changing Inventory Requisition Lines
Deleting Inventory Requisition Lines
Deleting an Inventory Requisition Header
To practice these procedures, see Unit F of the Requisitioning and Approval CBT.
It is important to note that whenever a requisition line is changed, the entire inventory requisition begins the approval process again. The NCAS also rechecks available funds and current inventory levels. Thus, a funds exception and/or a maximum exception can occur when changing an inventory requisition line.
If an inventory requisition is deleted, recall that it must be deleted in the following order: comments, lines, header. To delete requisitions that have already been converted into purchase orders, the requester must contact the buyer.
When an inventory requisition is changed or deleted, any affected inventory balances, such as on-order quantity, are automatically updated in the Inventory module at the time of the change.
