When changing warehouse information,
warehouse managers must observe the following rules:
| 1. | The USE INDICATOR field must not be changed. NCAS policy states the value in this field must always be M for materials management. |
| 2. | Information in the INVENTORY TYPE field cannot be changed if transactions have been processed for the warehouse area. You can verify that transactions have been processed by inquiring on the inventory detail records for the warehouse. You will learn more about inventory detail records in the Managing Inventory section of this course. |
| 3. | A new staging area must be established before changing the existing staging location. If the new area is not defined first, the system will automatically establish a staging area. |
