In addition to using the Cycle Count Close Out Request (CCCR) screen to close completed cycle counts, the warehouse manager can use the Cycle Count Close Out Request (CCCR) screen to cancel cycle counts that have been printed but not yet posted. The warehouse manager can only cancel a cycle count when all lines have a status of F for firm. The firm status indicates that the count quantities corresponding to these lines have not been posted. When cycle counts with line statuses of F are canceled on the Cycle Count Close Out Request (CCCR) screen, the system-maintained on-hand quantities and general ledger are not updated. By processing such a transaction, the warehouse manager is, in effect, canceling the request to perform the cycle count.
The warehouse manager can also use the Cycle Count Close Out (CCCR) screen to cancel and restart a count after the posting process has begun. Some lines for this cycle count will have a status of C while others will have a status of F. Before canceling the cycle count, the warehouse manager must change the posted quantities for the lines with C status to exactly match the original system-maintained quantities captured in the inventory snapshot. The snapshot quantities can be located on the Cycle Count Audit Report or on the Cycle Count Detail Count List Inquiry (CCDI) screen. The warehouse manager can then repost the correct physical quantities on the Post Cycle Count Activity (CCAU) screen.
The steps you must complete to cancel a cycle count are identical to the steps for closing a cycle count. However, to close a cycle count, all cycle count lines must have a status of C for complete whereas a cycle count can have lines with F (firm) status and be canceled.
Note that if you fail to change the status of a cycle count line from F to C when posting the count quantity on the Post Cycle Count Activity (CCAU) screen, the cycle count will be canceled rather than closed via the Cycle Count Close Out Request (CCCR) screen.
All cycle counts canceled on the Cycle Count Close Out Request (CCCR) screen are processed during production.
