Back Ordered Item Listing
The Back Ordered Item Listing (BACKORD) report displays the outstanding backorders by item for each warehouse. Only those items maintaining a backordered quantity are displayed on the report. Because the report lists backorders by item, the warehouse manager can see the total quantity backordered for each item. Only warehouses that process usage orders and internal replenishment orders can have backorders. Warehouses that operate using direct issues cannot have backordered items since direct issues do not produce pick lists.
The following information
is displayed for each backordered item listed on the Back Ordered Item
Listing (BACKORD) report:
Item number and description
Quantity available
Backordered items are only
reallocated automatically when there is enough stock available to fill
an entire order line. Therefore, an item can maintain both a positive available
quantity and a positive backordered quantity simultaneously. For example,
39 units of item 0009216 are backordered. Only 13 items are currently available.
As a result, item 0009216 will not be reallocated automatically until a
total of 39 units are available.
