You can instruct the NCAS to automatically close a pick list once all the lines on the pick list are picked complete or picked short but considered complete. There are two ways in which the NCAS can close a pick list automatically:

• Pick lists can be closed automatically during production if a Y for yes is entered in the CLOSE ORDER & PICK field or the CLOSE PICK ONLY field on the Post Picking Activity (PPA) screen. In other words, you will post the picking activity manually, but you will not need to manually close the order. You will use the Post Picking Activity (PPA) screen but not the Pick List Close Out Request (PLC) screen with this option.
• Usage order pick lists will close automatically if the automatic picking function is selected on the Warehouse Area Entry (WHAE) screen. As previously described, this function automatically posts the pick and closes the pick list and usage order. With this option, you do not need to use the Post Picking Activity (PPA), Pick List Close Out Request (PLC) or Usage Order Close (UOC) screens.
