Integrated System Solutions

Throughout the last 30 years, organizations have been automating their processes using a wide variety of automation tools.  In a typical organization, one will find many stove-piped functional systems linked by interfaces.  Figure 19 illustrates a typical legacy systems architecture.

Integrated systems solutions are software suites that offer integrated sets of business applications that allow organizations to integrate and manage many aspects of operations including human resources, finance, and logistics.  Figure 20 illustrates the architecture of an integrated system solution.  The interfaces have been eliminated.  These system solutions are being implemented in nearly every type of commercial industry and in many public sector enterprises today.
