Relevant Emerging Technologies
The OSC continues to explore appropriate technological solutions to provide the NCAS users with as "seamless" an access model as possible. The OSC is evaluating new technologies, including the expansion of the NCAS data warehouse/DSS and and electronic business functionality.

It is important to have a common understanding of these technologies before proceeding to identify the benefits the NCAS Business Model will derive as a result of embracing these technologies. It is also important to identify the level of the NCAS Model each of the technologies will affect.

The application software that supports the NCAS Business Model has three basic components: Input, Process, and Output. Figure 16 relates the component of the NCAS software that is being addressed and the emerging technology that will affect it. This figure also illustrates the different software options that OSC has at different levels of the systems schema.
