Electronic Commerce
Initiatives
Electronic Commerce is the
transfer of goods, services and /or information on-line, over the Internet,
private networks, intranets, or extranets. The phenomenon of
electronic
commerce is changing how businesses, government, and industries operate,
from business-to-business transactions to consumers receiving goods and
services. As was previously mentioned in the Financial Systems Master
Plan, the OSC is actively working on electronic commerce initiatives for
the NCAS such as the use of credit card acceptance for payment, electronic
payments to vendors and web procurement in support of electronic commerce.
We are committed to incorporating electronic commerce within the NCAS and
to providing the best and most efficient business practices for the State
of North Carolina.
