The following Job Aid has been updated:

  • PA Actions and Reasons
    The job aid was revised for an Action: LOA, Reason: WC Non Sworn Officer Continuation Pay [formerly W/C Correctional Officer (Custody)]. See Job Aid, page 3, 5th bullet statement. The updated definition reads “employee is a Non Sworn Officer being placed on Workers’ Comp with Continuation Pay up to 2 years.” (See GS 143-166-13 for details.)

BEACON Help Update - Bulletins
Beginning today, you will see a new folder in the BEACON Help structure. It is the Bulletins folder. This folder will contain quick 1-page info blasts of new or modified functionality that is not enough to require a Job Aid, but more than an email might capture.

A PA Bulletin regarding the hiding of the Work Against field has been added.

The following job aid has been revised and published to the Workflow section: 

PA Workflow Report

The Workflow Report job aid has been revised and is posted as a PA Workflow job aid which includes new functionality available 12/2/09 in the Workflow module.  Here is a list of the some of the new functionality:

  • An information icon
  • The ability to select by Created Date and Effective Date
  • Within the report …
    • The Entry Date was changed to Created Date
    • Initiated Date was added
    • The Start Date was changed to Effective Date
    • The name was added to accompany PERNRs for the user

 A new OM Workflow job aid will be published later this week and will be specific to OM Workflow.  This should provide more specific assistance when running the Workflow Report.

The following Job Aid has been added to the Finance section:

  • Payroll Financial Reconciliation Process
    This document outlines a suggested standard payroll financial reconciliation guidance to compare these three separate reports which should all have have the same total payroll expense amounts:
    • the payroll expense amount by budget code per the Cash Management Control System (CMCS)
    • the amount posted by agency and budget code in the general ledger (NCAS as shown in XPTR)
    • the total payroll expense by Business Area processed by OSC HR/Payroll as shown in ZFIR018

The MS 200 Manager Self Service WBT has been updated to include new screen shots and information on using the new default screen layout to approve employees' time, view reminder tasks, and approve leave requests on this screen.

The Work Schedule Rules Job Aid, in the Time folder, has been updated.

The following Job Aid has been added to the Finance section:

  • Preliminary Payroll Review Process
    This document outlines a suggested standard preliminary payroll review process steps and recommends several BEACON payroll and BI reports to review during the payroll correction days. Using the recommended reports will allow agencies to view and analyze finance, payroll, and HR data during the time when payroll corrections can still be processed.

The following Job Aid has been added to the PA section:

  • Infotype Overview for Employee (PC00_M02_LINFO)
    The Infotype Overview for Employees (PC00_M02_LINF0) is a transaction code that can be used to access an overview screen for all the data that has been captured for an employee. This transaction code can be accessed by the following roles: HR Data Maintainer, HR Director Display, HR Data Approver, and Payroll Admin.

The following Job Aid has been posted on BEACON Help:

  • MSS Job Aid - Recommended Process for Approving Time
    If you have a significant number of timesheets to approve, you may find it more convenient to run two reports to review all of the time rather than going into each record individually with the standard MSS approval process. Reviewing time data on the two reports is easier than using the individual approval transactions since it allows you to deal with any discrepancies and then use the “Approve All” option.

Lesson 5, Approving Time Sheets, in the MS200 Manager Self Service course has been updated to include references to the new MSS Job Aid - Recommended Process for Approving Time using Time Leveling and Working Times reports.

4/02/2009 ES210 Time Entry WBT Update
The ES 210 Time Entry course has been updated to include new instructions on recording Adverse Weather Leave and make-up hours. It includes instructions on how employees should record and get credit for Adverse Weather make-up hours when making up Adverse Weather hours in the same week they took the leave or making up the hours in other weeks in which they took other types of leave.

A new web-based training course is now available: TM 330, Charge Object Maintainer. This course is intended to provide agency Charge Object Maintainers with the concepts, knowledge, and skills associated with the basic processes related to uploading and maintaining BEACON Charge Objects. Contact your agency BEACON Training Agent to register for the course. Please note the following prerequisites: BEACON Overview (BC 100), SAP Basic Navigation (BC 110) and Time Overview (TM 200).
